As we live in such a rural community, surrounded by large areas of woods, grasslands, swamps and rivers, we have had a number of times when we had difficulty getting to an emergency…a woods fire deep in a wooded lot, a lost child or hunter, a snowmobiler, snowshoer, ice fishing person or someone in or near the water needing help where we couldn’t get into with our standard apparatus. Due to these issues where time and equipment are so essential, the Dresden Fire Department is still accepting donations to be used for special equipment for the UTV. At this time, we are raising money to purchase some tracks that will be a great asset for the winter months when we have a lot of snow. This will give us greater access through woods, etc. if there an emergency such as a snowmobile accident or other calls when we need to go through snow covered areas.
